Hello again…and thank you so much for taking time to read this newsletter. I hope you had a safe and happy Independence Day weekend!

     Our family was so blessed yesterday morning (07/08/09) with the birth of my first granddaughter. She is absolutely beautiful! We are so thankful that she and her parents (my daughter Erin and her husband Matt) are all doing extremely well. I have a feeling I will find a lot of inspiration in this little bundle of joy for many years to come!

     This exciting year in my art career just keeps getting better…in addition to being accepted into several more exhibitions, one of the national art magazines, American Art Collector, will feature me in a full page article next month…details are below. As an artist, it is my hope that the work I create will touch people in a meaningful way…that it will find a special place in someone’s heart and in their home. It is very gratifying to hear from so many of you about what my paintings mean to you. Being an artist is such a gift, and painting for me is often a very spiritual experience. It’s truly a blessing to share it.

Exhibition Opening Tomorrow Night in Denver, Colorado
Five of my paintings are included in the Plein Air Artists Colorado Juried Members Exhibition which opens tomorrow night, Friday, July 10^th, at Abend Gallery, 2260 E. Colfax Ave., in Denver, Colorado. The opening reception will be held from 5 to 9pm. The exhibition runs through July 25^th. If you are unable to make it to see the show in person, you can visit the gallery website at www.abendgallery.com, for an online catalog of the entire exhibition.

Oil Painters of America Western Regional Juried Exhibition

I was thrilled that my painting, Laguna Cliffs II, has been accepted into the prestigious Oil Painters of America Western Regional Juried Exhibition. The exhibit will run from August 6^th through 30^th at Howard Mandville Gallery in Kirkland, Washington, just outside of Seattle.

 
American Art Collector Magazine Article

What an unexpected and very exciting surprise it was to receive a call a few weeks ago from American Art Collector Magazine. The editor of the magazine chose me and my work for a full page “Artist Focus Feature” article in the August issue of the magazine! They also included one of my paintings in their July issue in an article about the Plein Air Artists Colorado exhibition you read about above. If you love art, this is a great magazine.
